Shaking things up

Natural Bedding Company Throne BedThe Natural Bedding Company has launched a Shaker inspired range of bedding and complementary furnishing items. Company co-director Sam McCaig confirmed the collection - ranging in price from $350 to $1150 for timber items and $1120 to $2060 for latex mattresses - would comprise seven to eight pieces, with all wooden components made from sustainable Australian hardwood timber.

"These products will last three to five times longer than your common MDF board, pine, or particle board furniture. Our products can be stained or oiled, they are incredibly solid and strong, and are timeless in design."

The Natural Bedding Company had created the range in response to customer demand, he said.

"We have found that listening to our customer needs helps improve our service and often is the beginning of a new product for us. We are always looking for new ways to grow our business, which has meant moving our focus from futon mattresses - the original product of the business - and simple frames to a higher quality elegant timber bed frame. We also supply furniture to complement our new range of supportive eco friendly mattresses."

"We distribute our mattresses around Australia and are in the process of doing the same with our furniture range. We primarily use the internet to promote our bedroom furniture and have also showcased our pieces in sustainability magazines and similar publications."

McCaig said the company had witnessed continued growth in recent years despite tough trading conditions.

"Our main focus being sustainable furniture, bedding and mattresses, we are committed to producing high end quality elegant natural products. Over the next three to five years we hope to have achieved this, beginning with this new range of products. We also plan to include new bed frames and innovative furniture pieces going forward. Our guarantees are what customers keep coming back to us for; excellent product, ethical customer service, a fantastic knowledge of the market and working with natural materials to create sustainable products."
