South Australian company Ritossa Furnishers is set to show at the Australian International Furniture Fair from February 3 to 5 2010, with a view to promoting its contract division's expertise in commercial fit outs for the hospitality and corporate sector.
Located in Beverley, west of Adelaide, Ritossa Furnishers are manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors to retailers Australia-wide. The company's contract division works with architects, specifiers and interior decorators on commercial fit outs of offices, hotels, motels and foyers, while the domestic side of the business manufactures one off and made to measure lounge suites, dining sets and modern beds to suit individual buyers.
Ritossa director and proprietor Louis Ritossa said the company had changed emphasis in recent years, following the advent of offshore manufacturing.
"I'd say around 75 per cent of our business is now in the contract or commercial sector, with the balance in the consumer market, whereas previously the split was around 50/50," he said.
Much of the company's work now resided in sub-contracting to the building industry, supplying seating, bedding components, dining furniture and a range of built in fixtures for major hospitality projects, as well as furnishing for corporate projects and specialised sectors such as aged care, with the bulk of products custom designed and locally made in the Adelaide area.
"Clients like the quality and precision of locally made product; and the quantities required are more suited to local production," Ritossa said.
The company showed at Furnitex in Melbourne earlier this year, Ritossa confirmed, picking up a number of key business leads including: Urban Edge Design - Broadbeach QLD; Furniture Direct Warehouse - Fyshwick ACT; UCI - Melbourne; Ascot Commercial Interiors - Melbourne; and Acacia Office Interiors - Queanbeyan NSW.
