An innovative knitted linen product from French home décor brand Sequana will soon be released to the Australian market following its triumph at leading Paris trade fair Maison et Objet earlier this year.

Of Irish origin, Mary Shaw has lived in Paris for over 20 years, founding Sequana in 1997 as a range of unique products including furniture, textiles, ceramics and glass and achieving rapid international success. A book about her work titled ‘A L'Ecole de Mary Shaw' was published by Chene, Hachette in April 2010.
January 2010 saw Sequana awarded the ‘Decouverte' prize - awarded for the most ground-breaking and best quality product - in the furnishing fabrics segment of Maison et Objet, titled Maison et Objet Editeurs and hosting around 100 exhibitors.

Sequana founder Mary Shaw, a key speaker at the upcoming Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) seminar series, confirmed the knitted linen (pictured near left) would be offered in seven colours and would be available from Sequana's Australian distributor Tigger Hall from February 2011.
Bearing Sequana's hallmark colours and textures from nature, the new product was100 per cent linen and knitted, she confirmed.
"It is full of texture and allows the light to come into the room, while also keeping people on the outside from seeing in. It certainly was a show-stopper at Maison et Objet and interest is coming from everywhere."
Mary Shaw will present her seminar ‘Creating Ambience' On Wednesday 2 February from 12.30pm - 1.30pm as part of the seminar series at the Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF), taking place at Sydney Exhibition Centre from 2-4 February 2011.
